San Diego EarthFair

Sunday, April 22, 2018 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Claiming to be the largest free annual environmental fair in the world, the San Diego EarthFair has been drawing crowds for 29 years.

The event is produced by 300 volunteers and expects approximately 60,000 visitors. There will be a food pavilion, a children’s activity area, four stages with live entertainment, an arts and crafts gallery, and the Cleaner Car Concourse featuring cars that run on alternative fuel. At 10:30 a.m. the Earth Day Parade will kick off the event by the Spanish Village and march to the Pan American Plaza. Participants can dress up as endangered species or present earth-friendly messages on signs.

The food pavilion will feature creative and delicious vegetarian options. Live local musicians will play on three of the stages throughout the day, and at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Dr. Wilderness Family Magic Show will perform on the fourth “Magic Stage.”

The Children’s Activity Area features games, crafts, face painting, storytelling, and other hands-on activities designed to educate children about the environment. The stage in this area features kid-oriented performances all day.

Everything discarded from the EarthFair is meant to be recycled, reused, or composed so that this will be a zero-waste event.
